I really don't think the comment by the announcer was meant to be mean.
It was just a slip. I really dislike people that like to stir up drama without thinking.

Why is there a need to use a racist slur to talk to someone?
A person must be pretty dim witted if thats all they can come up with to repartee someone verbally.
Spend more time learning a language and getting good enough at it to be creative, rather than relying on racist diatribe.
edit: Sorry I edited it to be more clear that I am referring to people in general. |

Exactly. Especially if you're a commentator on a public broadcast, like Brent. If you're going to be broadcasting live for an event like ATXI, have something worthwhile to say. Someone who resorts to using homophobic slurs in an attempt to be funny is not worthy of being in front of a live audience. Bigoted comments are never necessary. If you're set on using racial/sexist/homophobic slurs, at least have a sliver of decency and do it in private with your friends.
I don't think Brent meant it that way tho. It just came out. Its the firs time it happened anyway on a CCP show so hopefully the lesson is learnt and no one does it again. |

There are 3-4 people saying that what was said was wrong. They each posted 1 to 2 comments.
The person involved has apologized on air and now on record in this forum has clearly stated what was unnacceptable and why in 2 posts.
Internet trolls have posted over 9000 responses of stupidity.
When I see posts like the last few in this thread, I honestly wonder, are they just internet trolling and making themselves look like morons for their 5 minutes of internet fame, or if there is something deeply and intrinsically wrong with the posters view of the world and of the worth of everyone else different to them and if they really are bigots.
Bigotry is really ugly. It is a HUGE problem in the real world. But people in a certain club never see that and they heap their vitriol and small weiner syndrome hurt on everyone else and make them feel like crap for their insecurities.
I think it is posters like this that need to HTFU and not be a little child and spew their childish hate on everyone else, especially people who have not hurt them, would never think of hurting them. GROW THE F UP!~
I was honestly concerned when I read this thread, there is a kind of dangerous thinking that causes someone to think that slurs of any type are ok.
If normal moderate people don't stand up to bullying, and make no mistake that these sorts of posters are bullies, things like this move from being slurs being said to their closest friends in the locker room as a teenager to being out in the open and 'ok' for people to say in common parlance. And then it snowballs from there.....
It is CLEARLY unacceptable behaviour and it should NOT be tolerated. This board isn't for you and your hate. This is about people playing a video game and being friends.
If you want to spout crap, please go to StormDumbass.com and other similar sites and go talk like that there.
